David J. Ferrell was born in El Paso, Texas, joined the US Navy when he was 18 and served two combat cruises to Vietnam in 1968 & 1969 on the USS Enterprise CVAN 65. He went to UTEP and received a BS Degree in Criminal Justice with Honors and went to Texas Tech Law School graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1977. He then served as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas until 1981 when he went into private practice here in El Paso, and was an adjunct professor for Webster University (graduate school) for 13 years. David Ferrell served as an associate municipal judge for 6 1/2 years and is a frequent lecturer and author on legal and technology matters for the State Bar of Texas. He served on the El Paso Bar Association Board of Directors for three years and was elected to the office of President of the El Paso Probate Bar Association in 1999. In 2010 David Ferrell served as Justice of the Peace of Precinct #4 in El Paso, Texas. David Ferrell has had an AV Peer Review Rating compiled by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell which indicates the "Highest Rating in Legal Ability & Ethical Standards".
